Sponsored by the <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color:black\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalbreastcancer.org\/\"><span arial=\"\" style=\"border:none windowtext 1.0pt; font-family:\"><span style=\"color:black\">National Breast Cancer Foundation<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><span arial=\"\" style=\"border:none windowtext 1.0pt; font-family:\"><span style=\"color:#333333\">, this annual campaign is focused on increasing awareness of the disease and educating men &amp; women on how to be proactive with their breast health. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:.0001pt\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:.0001pt\"><span style=\"background:white\"><span style=\"line-height:normal\"><span arial=\"\" style=\"border:none windowtext 1.0pt; font-family:\"><span style=\"color:#333333\">About 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime and <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color:black\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalbreastcancer.org\/male-breast-cancer\"><span arial=\"\" style=\"border:none windowtext 1.0pt; font-family:\"><span style=\"color:black\">men<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><span arial=\"\" style=\"border:none windowtext 1.0pt; font-family:\"><span style=\"color:#333333\"> can be affected too! Since breast cancer has little to no <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color:black\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breastcancer.org\/symptoms\"><span arial=\"\" style=\"border:none windowtext 1.0pt; font-family:\"><span style=\"color:black\">symptoms<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><span arial=\"\" style=\"border:none windowtext 1.0pt; font-family:\"><span style=\"color:#333333\">, regular screenings are vital in order to detect it in its early stages. This opens up the possibility for more treatment options and higher success rates. It is recommended that women over 35 get a mammogram every year. Ask your health care provider to show you how to perform self-exams for an even more proactive approach to early detection.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:.0001pt\">\n<span style=\"background:white\"><span style=\"line-height:normal\"><span arial=\"\" style=\"border:none windowtext 1.0pt; font-family:\"><span style=\"color:#333333\">However, if cancer runs in your family, doctors recommend genetic testing to detect the presence of a potential BRCA (BReast CAncer) gene mutation. Those who test positive for a BRCA gene mutation have a significantly higher lifetime risk of developing the disease (as well as other cancers) at a younger age. Thankfully, with early screening and detection, the vast majority of breast cancer cases can now be successfully treated, even for those who are BRCA+. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:.0001pt\">\n<span style=\"background:white\"><span style=\"line-height:normal\"><span arial=\"\" style=\"border:none windowtext 1.0pt; font-family:\"><span style=\"color:#333333\">At <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color:black\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.morguardapartments.com\/Pages\/Default.aspx\"><span arial=\"\" style=\"border:none windowtext 1.0pt; font-family:\"><span style=\"color:black\">Morguard<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><span arial=\"\" style=\"border:none windowtext 1.0pt; font-family:\"><span style=\"color:#333333\">, we are committed to supporting our associates, clients, partners, and residents, whether they have been personally affected by the disease or have family\/friends that are in need of their support. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:.0001pt\">\n<span style=\"background:white\"><span style=\"line-height:normal\"><span arial=\"\" style=\"border:none windowtext 1.0pt; font-family:\"><span style=\"color:#333333\">During the month of October, we encourage our team members to wear pink on Wednesdays to raise awareness and promote life-saving research. Each year, we&#39;re blown away by our teams&rsquo; commitment to Breast Cancer Awareness! Not only do our associates wear pink to honor friends, family and all those affected, but we also share heart-warming stories to spread hope and positivity.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom:.0001pt\">\n<span style=\"background:white\"><span style=\"line-height:normal\"><span arial=\"\" style=\"border:none windowtext 1.0pt; font-family:\"><span style=\"color:#333333\">And there is a lot of hope! According to the American Cancer Society, when breast cancer is detected early and is in the localized stage, the 5-year relative survival rate is 99%.
