With a campaign theme to #BEBOLDFORCHANGE, our Morguard team celebrated the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women. From raising awareness to taking concrete action, organizations rallied their people to pledge support, to help forge gender parity on International Women’s Day (IWD) and beyond.

It’s About Awareness, Advocacy, and Action

We are proud to say that many Morguard team members participated in our event on this global day, celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women in the past, present and future. IWD is all about awareness, advocacy, and action. Our company culture reflects the call to action for accelerating gender parity, which is something Morguard fully supports.  

The event was hosted by our corporate office Social Committee, which featured guest speakers Beatrice Bwalanda, Yardi 7S Software Program Executive, Melanie Kurzuk, our Corporate Marketing Project Manager, as well as Rai Sahi, our esteemed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. While our local colleagues were able to participate in person, we encouraged company wide participation through the #BeBoldForChange campaign.

To #BeBoldForChange, it starts with having an awareness of the many ways to be an advocate and to take action. Beyond the day itself, the movement is perpetual, and we want everyone to have an opportunity to be bold. The campaign provides five areas where people can take specific action for change in support of women. Share Your Support On Social


As part of this continuing campaign, we built a page on our intranet site to post images of employees across the company with one of the attached “actions” in a selfie. We invite you to get in on the fun; share your own content on social media using the hashtags #BeBoldForChange #Morguard and post it to Instagram or Facebook. If you post a selfie please be sure to also use the hashtags #MorguardApartments and #InternationalWomensDay and tag @morguardpartments on Instagram or Facebook.  

We thank those from our staff who participated as part of our involvement with the Yardi 7s project. But this is not limited to Morguard staff, since we encourage everyone, including residents and extended circles, to share your bold actions and support by downloading and printing the #BeBoldForChange selfie card. Promote your support for bold action via social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Youtube, etc) using the "hands in" visual concept.

Morguard Supports Accelerating Gender Parity

Just as our mission to help end cancer is well-documented through charitable efforts, we have also taken a unified stand to pledge support for women via the campaigns championed through the International Women’s Day movement. We can all make a difference by taking action, and being bold in a myriad of ways.

Last year, organizations and individuals around the world supported the #PledgeForParity campaign and committed to help women and girls achieve their ambitions; challenge conscious and unconscious bias; call for gender-balanced leadership; value women and men's contributions equally; and create inclusive flexible cultures. Yet progress has slowed in many places across the world, so global action is needed to accelerate gender parity. The World Economic Forum predicts the gender gap won't close entirely until 2186. This is too long to wait.  IWD can be an important catalyst and vehicle for driving greater change for women and moving closer to gender parity.

Taking action comes in a variety of forms. Will you #BeBoldForChange by taking groundbreaking action that truly drives the greatest change for women? Each one of us - with women, men and nonbinary people joining forces - can be a leader within our own spheres of influence by taking bold pragmatic action to accelerate gender parity. Through purposeful collaboration, we can help women advance and unleash the limitless potential offered to economies the world over. We have urgent work to do.
