Keeping Our Communities Safe – Together
August 21, 2020
Over the past few months, a lot has changed. Together we are making sure our communities are safe for you - our residents, your family and visitors. Guided by the safety measures provided by the government, we continue to be committed to the health and wellbeing of our neighbours and communities. We will continue to provide updates and safety measures in accordance with local health authorities and regional governments.
While summer is in full swing, we understand it is like no other summer you may remember. Each of us is embracing a new normal in all aspects of our lives. Whether at work or at play, we are finding new ways to interact and create connections while remaining 6ft (or 2 meters) apart. We remind you, for the safety of our neighbours and communities, to continue physical distancing practices in shared spaces. These unprecedented times have been eased thanks to the respect and compassion of our team members, neighbours, and communities.
REMINDER OF MEASURES TO REDUCE THE SPREAD:
- If you or anyone in your unit is in mandatory self-isolation, you are also required to stay in your home;
- If you have traveled, it is government mandated to self-isolate for 14 days;
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds;
- If soap is unavailable, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol;
- Maintain a safe distance of 6 feet or 2 meters between yourself and others;
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands;
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick; and
- Stay home when you are sick.
If you believe to have been in contact with someone you know or suspect to have COVID-19, please contact your local health authorities.
Thanks to the incredible work of our valued team members and to you for embracing the new normal, we are working side by side to rebuild.
TOGETHER WE WILL EMBRACE NEW DAYS. TOGETHER WE WILL FIND NEW WAYS.
Thank you for doing your part.
A Note to Our Residents
April 13, 2020
As these unique and challenging times continue to unfold, we want to reassure you that Morguard remains dedicated to the health, safety and wellbeing of our residents, team members and communities. Our #MorguardCARES culture of compassion, kindness and community carries us through, ensuring that no matter how difficult the circumstances, we will find a way through it, together.
We know that many of you are facing difficult choices ahead, as employers respond to the changing socio-economic environment caused by COVID-19. Along with the steps we’ve already put in place to safeguard our residents, we’ve modified our policies to reduce the financial hardship for those in need. Morguard is dedicated to helping those that have been directly impacted by the pandemic; if you have suffered financially, please contact your Community/Property Manager to discuss what resident relief options are available to you. We’re in this together and will work with you to achieve a solution.
We also encourage residents to apply for resources that are being offered by federal, regional and local governments, as well as community organizations, to assist in obtaining financial assistance, food and healthcare. Below is a list of resources you may find helpful for your unique situation.
For those not financially impacted by COVID-19, we would like to thank you again for your rent payments and continued support of our team. We rely heavily on timely payments to fulfil our communities’ financial obligations, such as property maintenance expenses, insurance and mortgages, as well as provide for the livelihood of our team members. They are committed to addressing your needs, maintaining cleanliness and keeping our residents comfortable and secure in their homes.
We want you to know that Morguard’s dedication to you and your family is unwavering. We understand that these are trying times, and we’re here to help. Our people are at the center of everything we do, and we want to thank you again for choosing to be a part of our Morguard family.

In these uncertain and unprecedented times, we want to assure you that Morguard remains committed to the health and safety of our residents, team members and communities. We’re actively following the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), as our top priority is providing a clean, caring and safe environment for those in our communities and workplaces. Though we’ve implemented new working practices in an effort to practice the highest level of caution, our virtual offices remain open and available to you. You are an integral part of our Morguard family, and we’re here to help as best as we can.
While we continue to monitor the rapidly evolving circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak, we’ve put together some recommendations and information that we hope may be helpful to you.
While our proximity brings us together as neighbors and
friends, it’s our social connection that ties us together as a community. Though
we understand that social distancing is an essential part of mitigating the virus’
spread and urge everyone to comply with this provisional “new norm,” we’re
dedicated to maintaining the strong sense of community that our residents value.
Though we must maintain some physical distance, it’s essential that we stay

Stay at home and only travel outside for
essential needs such as groceries or healthcare;
Avoid common greetings, such as handshakes and
face-to-face meetings; and
Limit contact with people at higher risk like the elderly and those with underlying health issues.
Though this volatile and uncertain COVID-19 environment has disrupted our daily lives, please know that we are and will remain steadfast in Morguard’s commitment to exceptional service. Community is the foundation of our organization, and the essence of everything we do. Due to the rapidly evolving nature of the virus and its effects on our society, we’ve implemented some precautionary measures to help protect our communities and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
While we love spending time with our neighbors and friends, thank you for understanding that for now, our communities have implemented the following changes:

All non-essential amenities (fitness center, pool, business center, etc.) are taking a break, but not for too long! In the meantime, take the time to enjoy your Morguard apartment home by knocking out some Spring Cleaning or redecorating your safe space.
