When you’re a community known for its resort-style atmosphere, you need a team that can keep up with that lifestyle. For this task, our Morguard apartments community in Irving, Texas is fortunate enough to have someone like Ruendi Lazo. He is our rockstar Maintenance Supervisor at the Grand Venetian at Las Colinas.
If you know Ruendi, you will agree that he embodies the saying, “hit the ground running!” In 2016, Grand Venetian at Las Colinas was in dire need of a maintenance lead during the summer. At the time, Ruendi was working at the community next door and The Grand Venetian team had already taken notice of his exemplary work. So when the stars aligned and they had the opportunity to bring Ruendi onto the team, they seized it!
He jumped right in and immediately improved maintenance operations. Throughout his time leading the maintenance staff, he has maintained a positive attitude. This can be seen in how he leads his team, encouraging them in their day-to-day work lives. Ruendi has also instilled a sense of family in his team. No matter how busy work gets, he makes sure to put his team first. Their needs and concerns are always his top priority. The care he takes of his team flows into the work they provide for this amazing community. Even when big changes hit, he handles them with ease.
Here are some of the wonderful things that the team at Grand Venetian had to say about Ruendi:
“Ruendi is extremely dependable and hard working. He shows up each day with a smile and a positive outlook. Ruendi leads the team with patience, even under extremely stressful circumstances. He puts the needs of his staff first. Ruendi will usually plan on working around the holidays so that his staff can have time off to spend with their families. He creates great working relationships with the residents, vendors and staff. He is also organized, which helps to keep the stress of a busy property under control.” – Cyndee Ross, Assistant Manager
“Ruendi is valued not only by his team members and staff, but also by staff members at sister properties. Supervisors and technicians alike will reach out to Ruendi for his input on maintenance issues that are difficult to solve. He also is always willing to lend a helping hand to his sister properties when they are in need of additional support.” - Christa Lingafelter, Community Manager
When he’s not sprucing up the Grand Venetian or helping other local maintenance crews, Reundi keeps busy. He’s the kind of person who doesn’t like to have much down time. He has several hobbies and keeps active with biking and playing soccer. His true joy is in spending time with his family and visiting his church. And did we mention one of his hobbies includes remodeling houses?
If you know of someone like Ruendi, we’re always looking for more heros at Morguard. If you have anyone in mind, please refer them to our careers page. They’re welcome to join our Morguard family!
